Mentioned that wind can blow olive trees over when they have too thick of a canopy, and that they can dislodge and fall over at an angle as a result.

olive_council_report:

Grove has suffered 22.5 % mortality (5 Arbosana, 2 Manzanilla, 1 Mission, 1 Arbequina). The remaining grove is healthy, with all five varieties having bloomed and produced fruit this year (dates of first flower or fruit not recorded). Koreneiki 8-1 and Manzanilla 8-10 were still flowering during the late august visit. The Arbequina had the highest yields. The trees are managed passively and mostly left to themselves. Dr. Anderson reported that they plan to measure the trees and perform a vigorating at the time of harvest, scheduled for this September.

other_inspection: No
grove_notes:

Herbicide (round-up) applied in row strips. Trees on very fertile soil, historically farmland.
