4H Club Olive Grove – Marion County
Jonael Bosques at Marion County 4H Olive Test Plot
In 2013, Jonael Bosques (pictured), the small farms agent for Marion County contacted the Florida Olive Council and suggested planting a test plot to be maintained by the Marion County 4H club. The Council donated olive trees of several varieties and provided funds for maintenance. Bosques planted 5 varieties and set up the irrigation. The grove is located at the 4H club property in south Marion County. Margaret Carden, UF-IFAS Agent in Marion County works with the 4H club.
